The Urban Forest Summit (UFS) is one of OLWC’s cornerstone annual gatherings, bringing together residents, neighborhood associations, partner organizations, and natural resource professionals to learn, collaborate, and celebrate Lake Oswego’s tree canopy.

Each year, the UFS highlights timely topics that deepen our collective understanding of the ecological, cultural, and community value of our urban forest. Past speakers have explored themes such as:

  • How climate change is shaping future urban forest management
  • The role of native trees in supporting wildlife and watershed health
  • Strategies for neighborhood-scale stewardship and collaborative canopy care
  • Best practices for invasive species removal and successful understory restoration

The event blends science, storytelling, and community dialogue, offering practical tools and inspiration for anyone interested in protecting and strengthening our shared forested landscapes. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer, a curious resident, or part of a local organization, the Summit is an open invitation to learn, connect, and take meaningful action.

2026 event date TBD — please stay tuned.
